RICE MOTORS
I turned a love for cars into a luxury rental business.
Built in Orlando from the ground up, RICE MOTORS grew from an idea into a 46-vehicle master fleet, real customers and a seven-figure business.

How it started
RICE MOTORS started with a simple idea: cars did not have to be only an expense or a personal obsession. The right cars could become assets inside a real business.
What began with individual vehicles turned into a rental operation built around the cars I already cared about, then expanded into a broader luxury and exotic fleet for customers in Orlando and Central Florida.
Building the fleet
The fleet became the center of the business. Every vehicle created a new set of decisions around acquisition, financing, insurance, pricing, utilization, maintenance, presentation and when it made sense to keep or replace the car.
Across the RICE MOTORS master fleet, 46 vehicles have been tracked across exotic, elite, premium, standard and economy classes. The archive will keep expanding here with the cars themselves: early vehicles, fleet lineups, interiors, deliveries, maintenance, old listings and the progression from the first rentals into a larger operation.
The business behind the cars
The public side was cars and content. The actual business was everything happening around them: reservations, identity checks, deposits, contracts, insurance, delivery, pickup, extensions, maintenance, damage, support and getting the next customer into a clean car on time.

Building the brand
RICE MOTORS was never supposed to look like a generic rental company. The visual system stayed dark, restrained and automotive, with controlled photography, a sharp R mark and a customer experience that matched the cars being offered.
The website, social presence, booking flow, vehicle presentation and handoff all needed to feel like the same company. The brand mattered because it shaped the first impression, but it only worked if the real rental experience backed it up.
The scale
What started as a car rental idea became one of the largest businesses I had built outside fashion.

What the business taught me
Luxury rentals look glamorous from the outside. Operating them makes the tradeoffs obvious. Every additional car brings another payment, insurance bill, maintenance schedule, depreciation curve, downtime risk and chance that one bad rental becomes an expensive problem.
The first version of RICE MOTORS eventually slowed down, but the lessons stayed: fleet size means nothing without utilization, revenue means little without control of costs, and the customer experience has to survive contact with real operations.
The return
RICE MOTORS is being rebuilt now with a much stronger operating foundation. The new version is centered on direct reservations, better customer workflows, clearer fleet management and systems that reduce the manual work that made the first version harder to scale.
The cars are still the part everyone sees. This time, more of the infrastructure behind them is being designed from the beginning.
